We are a California non-profit support group, proudly affiliated with the National Celiac Association headquartered in Boston, MA (which we also highly encourage you to join!)

2021
  • Our Zoom Call on January 30 with Melinda Dennis, MS, RD, LDN was well attended. Through the month of April, you may view the video on our website at glutenfreesandiego.org.

2020
  • Donations of non-perishable gluten free food have been sent to three food banks in the San Diego area. We will continue to send donations as needed. Their locations and information are at the bottom of this page. 

  • We partnered with a high school Girl Scout who is working to earn her Gold Award. Her project will focus on raising celiac awareness. At our suggestion, she has consulted with a dietitian on our Medical Advisory Board.

  • We updated our website with the most useful and current information. This is an ongoing process in our efforts to keep everyone informed.

    Most of the above activities were possible because of YOUR donations. We plan to continue supporting our community during these challenging times. As members of NCA San Diego, your 2021 Membership Dues ($15 per person or family) are now payable.  Please contact us at [email protected] if you would like to pay by check. ​If you know of someone in San Diego experiencing food insecurities who must eat gluten free, there are 3 San Diego non-profit food pantries.
These groups make, or try to make, gluten free food available to the people they serve. 
They need NON-PERISHABLE, GLUTEN FREE food donations, so we have provided links for those of you who would like to help:

1) Community Resource Center Food Pantry (Encinitas)
10-15% of their population states they need GF food for medical reasons.

Aside from our San Diego support group, we highly recommend additionally joining our parent non-profit, the Boston-based National Celiac Association. 
Membership is $30.00 for 1 year and a $5.00 sign-up fee that includes their magazine published 3 times a year.  The magazine alone, in our opinion, is worth every penny.  The group, headquartered in Boston, partners with the three Harvard Celiac Centers located there. Members gain access to member-only website resources,  current and past editions of NCA’s comprehensive magazine, Gluten-Free Nation, and cutting edge gluten-free nutrition, medical, and scientific information. Your supportive membership also helps the non-profit organization educate, advocate for, and provide resources to others across the country dealing with celiac disease or other gluten related disorders.
